P & W Railroad High Rail Trestle Repair
Washington County, Oregon
Start and End Date: December 2011
Difficult access combined with a demanding schedule provided the challenge during the construction and rehabilitation of a 740' wooden trestle bridge for the P & W Railroad. To overcome the access obstacles, Hamilton Construction, general contractor on the rehabilitation project, brought in trucks with under bridge work platforms, and built scaffolding, but by and large, both demolition and new construction materials were carried in manually by a group of the toughest and hardest workers to be found on a rail construction site anywhere. Hamilton crews completed the work ahead of schedule, on budget, and with no injuries.
