Chickaloon River Bridge Replacement

Milepost 78 Glenn Highway (20 miles east of Sutton, AK)

Start Date: July 2015
End Date: Summer 2016

This project for the Federal Highway Administration is located approximately 20 miles east of our office in Sutton @ MP 78 of the Glenn Hwy. New bridge will be a three- span 45' x 350' long precast bulb-tee girder bridge with cast-in-place deck. The two center piers are 10' diameter shafts approximately 55' deep and the four abutments will include five ft. shafts approximately the same depth. Work requires building a seven span work bridge and driller slips.

The schedule is extremely aggressive. Construction on the project will start in mid-July 2015 and go through October, than shutdown from Nov. 1st thru April 1st 2016, starting up again in Spring of 2016. The plan is to get the shafts and pier columns/caps in place this year before winter shutdown and then come back in Spring 2016 to finish out the superstructure and earthwork.
